REBECCA THOMAS ROBINSON
MA PgCe FHEA
Artist Rebecca Thomas Robinson lives and works on the beautiful Isle of Wight
Rebecca creates sought after hand stitched textile pieces and mixed media paintings that give voice to the quiet stories held within antique paper, textiles and found objects.
Her sustainable approach is project based, process driven and underpinned by extensive research, creative writing and detailed preliminary drawings.
She engages in a slow contemplative meditation organically shaped by time spent in nature and grounded in the healing potential of hand-making.
Rebecca has exhibited widely in UK and Europe including National Trust and English Heritage venues.
A number of her works can be found in private and National Collections including Portsmouth City Museum.
Rebecca is an experienced Tutor, Creative Project Manager and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
She runs regular creative classes and workshops for individuals and small groups from her artist studio based in Brading, Isle of Wight and in inspirational venues throughout the UK.
Her current research interest is considering the therapeutic benefit of creative activities to health and wellness with particular reference to hand stitch and theories of 'psychological mending'.
